Simcenter 3D 2606: Integrated CAE Platform with Major E-Drive & Acoustics Advances

Simcenter 3D 2606 is the Siemens’ comprehensive CAE solution, delivering significant updates for electric vehicle NVH, aerostructure analysis, turbomachinery, additive manufacturing, and low-frequency electromagnetics.

Key New Features in 2606

Enhanced Acoustic Transfer Vector (ATV) for E-Drive Encapsulations

The ATV method now includes poro-elastic material effects within acoustic encapsulations (e.g., engine covers). This enables fast, accurate multi-RPM noise radiation predictions while capturing the sound-damping behavior of encapsulation materials. For multi-order analysis, ATV-based models complete in 2.5 minutes with 5 GB memory versus 24+ hours for direct models.

Multi-Stage Cyclic Symmetry for Turbomachinery

Simcenter 3D Rotor Dynamics now computes complex modal analysis of unsymmetric assemblies, specifically for turbomachines with multiple stages of cyclic symmetry and anisotropic bearings. This overcomes previous single-sector model limitations, enabling accurate Campbell diagrams and complex modes in a fixed reference frame.

Automated E-Machine Import from Simcenter E-Machine Design

Simcenter 3D now automatically creates 3D models, meshes, and .sim files by importing designs directly from Simcenter E-Machine Design, eliminating bottlenecks in multi-discipline e-machine workflows.

Pass-By Noise Pre-Processing Improvements

Enhanced source pre-processing supports multiple files, generates transient sound sources from frequency spectra and RPM signals, and ensures signal energy-conserving treatment of broadband noise sources.

Additive Manufacturing: Multi-Laser Printer Setup

New multi-laser printer setup manages varying strain and shrinkage across large build plates with automatic laser alignment and inherent strain values per laser. A decoupled thermal-mechanical simulation allows faster build plate analysis without accuracy loss.

Margin of Safety: Advanced Load Idealization

Grid point forces and moments can now create custom flat panels with bending nodes, streamlining integration of FE result-based methods in margin of safety analysis.
