Revisited Highlighting Functionality
The highlighting functionality has been enhanced to improve usability and introduce new user-friendly workflows. Users can now create custom highlights directly from the network browser. Dynamic sizing options have been introduced, enabling adjustments to the highlights based on zoom levels to ensure they remain effective and visible across varying network scales. Custom filters can now be saved as highlights to incorporate network input data and/or simulation results. Finally, the revisited highlighting functionality is now seamlessly integrated into module result views to enable module-specific outputs as highlights, thus providing a more cohesive experience.

Extended Feeder Tracing and Evaluation
The design and planning of distribution systems can be supported using network models with a representation of stations and feeders to effectively work on this abstraction level before refining station layouts and detailed routes.
The revisited feeder tracing and evaluation functionality traces the network model based on its connectivity to determine stations and feeders. It dynamically creates relations between stations and feeders, detects the feeder configuration (radial, open ring, mesh), offers a visualization in the network graphic and performs basic evaluations of input data and power flow results per feeder.
The functionality integrated completely as module of the simulation engine to support performant interaction via the API without being bound to the GUI.

Grid-Forming and Grid-Following Converter Models
The control concept of converters will define the dynamic behavior of modern power systems, which will integrate both grid-forming and grid-following converters. PSS®SINCAL added new generic models for stability (RMS) and EMT simulations that support those control concepts. In grid-following operation, the models include Frequency support, Voltage and Dynamic Voltage support functions. In grid-forming mode, the models additionally control the voltage and provide virtual inertia to the system. A new example shows the models’ suitability in high-penetration RES (up to 100%) scenario and islanded operation.
