PC-DMIS 2024.1 – Work smarter with the power of Nexus

PC-DMIS 2024.1 continues to integrate even closer with Nexus, Hexagon’s next generation platform, offering a complete portfolio of manufacturing technology and connected workflows.

With a growing number of Nexus Native applications now available, the cloud connected platform streamlines manufacturing workflows and delivers efficiency gains by extending the capabilities of PC-DMIS and other on-premises software in the Hexagon eco-system.

Supporting systems from coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to portable measuring arms and laser trackers, PC-DMIS is a measurement software solution for metrology professionals and shop-floor operators alike.

Trusted by thousands of business worldwide for their diverse measurement needs, PC-DMIS is the world’s leading metrology software. PC-DMIS enables you create measurement routines, execute them on the shop floor and collaborate to make decisions based on the results.

Featuring highly-sophisticated measurement algorithms, PC-DMIS is the smart choice with industry-leading expertise and technical capability built-in. The powerful yet flexible PC-DMIS metrology software works with both Hexagon and third-party measurement systems, giving you a unified user experience across all your measurement operations, decreasing training costs and allowing better resource management. Plus, its modular design enables you to scale your installation as your metrology needs grow.
Application
• When you install PC-DMIS, it now installs the HexMI_DemoPart_Vision.IGS CAD
file.
Auto Features
• You can now see the Vertical Up/Down box in the Feature Based Clipping
area in the Feature Extraction tab of the Probe Toolbox. With this, you can set
independent values for up and down Vertical clipping instead of a single value when
you create a laser auto feature. This helps you to fine-tune the extraction to exclude
unwanted data from the segregation.
• You can now filter out points with normals outside of a specified angle when you
extract a stud feature from Laser data. This filter is beneficial when dealing with data
scanned from both sides of a sheet metal part and acts only on the planar portion of
the given point cloud data, leaving the cylindrical portion unfiltered.
• When you program a Flush and Gap feature using the
Auto Features dialog box,
the nominal Flush value is now obtained using a different calculation method.
• You can now see that the
Max incidence angle filter in the Feature Extraction tab
of the Probe Toolbox is renamed to
Angle.
• You can now disable the Cylinder Ending Offset smart parameter using the
EnableEndingOffsetSmartCalculation registry key.
CAD
• PC-DMIS now displays the part names in the Assembly Tree View of the CAD
Assembly dialog box when the VISI CAD model includes the part details.
Command Mode
• PC-DMIS now provides the ability to find or find and replace key words that are
in a collapsed group. When a keyword is found, PC-DMIS expands the group and
places the cursor on the first found string.
Constructed Features
• You can now see these additional controls in the Construct Point dialog box when
you create a Constructed Extracted feature:
Polar / Cartesia
