What’s New in Surpac 2019
The following enhancements have been implemented in Surpac 2019:
Configuration
l In the Customise > Default preference > Settings > Viewer settings section, you can
select the new Double click to set rotation point check box to double-click in Graphics
to set the point ofrotation to view the data.
l In the Customise > Window appearance menu, you can use the new Dark and Light dis￾play themes for better user experience that has flat UI and more interactive form visu￾als.
l In the context menu, you can use the new Quick constraints function to quickly con￾strain a block model using the data available in Graphics.
l In the context menu, you use the new Edit selected block and Block model summary
functions to edit a block and view the summary of a block.
Geology
l You can now load the datamine rotated block model. The rotation of the block model is
displayed on the Block model > Block model > Summary > Block modelsummary form
in the Bearing, Dip, and Plunge fields.
l On the Surfaces > Mesh tools > Deviation analysis > Deviation Analysis and Solids >
Mesh tools > Deviation analysis > Deviation Analysis forms, you can select or clear the
new Hide design object check box to hide or show the design object in Graphics after
the deviation analysis. In addition, the design object is now available in Graphics after
you cancel these forms.
l On the Surfaces > Volumes > Report volume ofsolids > Object report or Solids > Solids
tools > Report volume ofsolids > Object report form, you can select the new Display
overlaps check box to display the intersecting triangle(s) of a trisolation in Graphics.
l When you run the NAVO or OBJECT REPORT function, and select the Check overlaps
checkbox, a warning message now appears if the selected object is completely closed.
l When you mesh a point cloud with more than one million points, a warning message
now appears. The message describes the excessive processing time and consumption
of memory required to mesh the large number of points. In the warning message, you
can click Yes to continue the meshing process, or No to stop the meshing process.
Miscellaneous
l You can use the new Design > Stope shape optimizer function to produce stope￾shapes from a block model that spatially represents the location of a mineralization.
The stope -shape maximizes the recovered resource and caters input for practical min￾ing parameters.
l On the Surfaces > Mesh tools > Point cloud clean > Point cloud cleaner and Solids >
Mesh tools > Point cloud clean > Point cloud cleaner forms, you can select the new Res￾cale view to show entire cloud check box to change the viewport of the output point
cloud data. You can clear this check box to retain the viewport.
l Surpac supports reading and writing the new .omf file format. You can now save a
.dtm, .str, and .sdm files in the .omf file format.
l You can use the new 3DEXPERIENCE panel to generate implicit models using the
Geology Modeling app on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. From a Surpac database, you
can upload boreholes, solids, and terrains to a server. The data can be used to generate

geology models that you can then download to Surpac. As the model is refined, you
can download the updated version.
Engineering
l You can use the new Stope Optimization license module to access the Design > Stope
shape optimizer function.
l On the Design > Stope design tools > Stope Slicer > Naming tab, you can select the
new Save sequence number check box to save the sequence number to the metadata
of the .sdm or .dtm file, and the Reverse sequence number check box to save the
sequence number in reverse order.
Enterprise Collaboration
l If you attempt an action after your session has timed out, a prompt requests your credentials to get a new session. Surpac now automatically retries the action you requested when the session time out prompt was triggered.
l The cache location for Enterprise Collaboration is now set in the Settings (Customise >
Default Preferences) form. In addition, the selected cache location is validated to
ensure it is empty before it is accepted as the new cache location.
l The Enterprise Collaboration functionality is now included in Surpac, QUARRY, and
XPLORPAC.
l Multiple functions in Enterprise Collaboration can now run at the same time. For
example, if you check in a large file and then download a small file, the download
quickly completes before the check in is complete. Previously, multiple functions that
were triggered ran in sequence. That is, the next action would not start before the previous action completed. For example, if you checked in a large file and then downloaded a small file you had to wait for the check in to complete before the download
started.
l If you try to perform an action on an object (file, document, folder, or workspace) in
the Enterprise Collaboration tree that has been deleted from the platform, the action
fails, a message appears in the message window, and the object is removed from the
tree.
