TICRA Tools is a shared interface to multiple TICRA products. In the TICRA Tools framework, GRASP, ESTEAM (previously MoM), CHAMP 3D, QUPES, POS, and UQ work together, so that users can combine the features of one product with the others to perform very advanced analyses and designs of complex antenna structures.
Analysis and design of reflector antenna systems
Dedicated software for reflector systems, enabling fast and accurate analysis and design of the most advanced reflector antenna systems. Multiple antennas may be defined within the same project, and the general command structure enables the user to define which of those will be considered during a given analysis. This opens for the possibility of making advanced scattering analysis of clusters of antennas. GRASP offers an advanced PO algorithm as the baseline analysis method, supplemented by optional GTD and Moment Method solvers for advanced applications
General EM scattering and radiation
ESTEAM is the tool for solving electromagnetic scattering and radiation problems of general nature involving conducting as well as dielectric materials. Detailed models of, for example, microstrip and helix antennas can be analysed and optimised, and ESTEAM particularly excels for modelling electrically large antennas and platforms.
Easy design optimisation
The optimisation algorithms available for any product in TICRA Tools offer both global and local methods for thorough design developments. S-parameters and return loss are typically considered in CHAMP 3D, just as the feed pattern may be formed to meet a specific illumination pattern. Rotationally symmetric terminals with one or two reflectors can be made to meet patterns constraints, e.g. sidelobe roll-off.
Analysis and design of quasi-periodic surfaces
QUPES is a dedicated software tool for the analysis and design of quasi-periodic surfaces such as reflectarrays, frequency selective surfaces (FSS), transmitarrays, etc. Starting from the definition and design of the unit cell geometry to the optimisation of the entire finite-sized structures, QUPES provides the needed capabilities to design a periodic/quasi-periodic surface in a single tool, thus avoiding the need of using multiple software packages.
