SolidWorks products marketed by Amada in Japan include:

• SheetWorks for Unfold, a sheet-metal manufacturing system
• SheetWorks for Design add-in design software, enabling designers to make full use of SheetWorks for Unfold

SheetWorks for Unfold can:

• Perform sheet-metal unfolding processing from all types of 3D files read through the SolidWorks import interface, including IGES, STEP, Parasolid, ACIS, and UG break up 3D models into several parts
• Unfold by batch processing when a model has been assembled
• Recognize forming and special tools in 3D model write them as attribute data together with manufacturing information, and send to any CAM software via DXF, and DWG files

SheetWorks for Design can:

• Supply the necessary functions of SheetWorks for Unfold for designers
• Automatically create solid assembly models for shell models three-dimensionally designed by SolidWorks by issuing bend-line and cut-line instructions
• Avoid bend-line interference at the design stage using a 3D return bend graph function and the sheet-metal model check function
• Check placement of holes near bend lines, minimum flanges, and hole sizes
