DEFORM V14.0 SP1

DEFORM is specifically designed to simulate cold, warm and hot manufacturing operations for preform optimization, tooling and product development, process troubleshooting and die stress analysis. Typical applications include forming, heat treatment and machining.

Advanced simulation capabilities for phase transformation, ductile fracture, micro-structural evolution, machining distortion and chip morphology enable the entire manufacturing chain to be studied – from ingot conversion, through forming, machining and heat treatment, to final product installation. From this insight, you can identify process improvements to maximize quality and efficiency.

Workflow wizards, with standard material and tooling libraries, support the simulation of typical manufacturing operations with minimum training. Experienced users can also incorporate custom constitutive, fracture and micro-structural models, press specifications and non-metallic materials.

DEFORM comprises a range of 2D, 3D and process-specific software products to suit the application, together with a Premier bundled option for advanced users and universities. DEFORM Forming & Additional Modules offer a range of additional productivity capabilities, including inverse heat transfer coefficient calculations, Design of Experiments and advanced material data prediction.

DEFORM is used for forging, cold heading, machining, heat treatment, rolling, mechanical joining and a wide range of other applications. DEFORM offers flexible packaging to provide an optimum solution to your modeling requirements. Common system components are utilized throughout. Application-specific GUIs (graphical user interface) simplify data input and postprocessing.

DEFORM-3D is a flexible and open system capable of analyzing a wide range of deformation, thermal and microstructural processes requiring three-dimensional modeling.

DEFORM-2D is a flexible and open system capable of analyzing a wide range of deformation, thermal and microstructural processes when a two-dimensional (axisymmetric or plane strain) solution is appropriate.

FORMING EXPRESS (3D) is an easy-to-use three-dimensional modeling system capable of analyzing forging, cold heading, extrusion, drawing, upsetting and other common processes.

FORMING EXPRESS (2D) is an easy-to-use two-dimensional system capable of analyzing forging, cold heading, extrusion, drawing and upsetting for axisymmetric (round) and plane strain cases.

DEFORM-HT can be licensed as a stand-alone program to simulate heat treatment processes and microstructure development. Alternatively, the Microstructure Module can be added to a DEFORM-2D or DEFORM-3D license to enable microstructure development during deformation. Simulation queue’s, floating licenses, cluster licensing and a range of application-specific preprocessors are available for rolling, machining and cogging.
