tNavigator 2026.3: Smarter AI & Advanced Subsurface Simulation
tNavigator 2026.3 is Rock Flow Dynamics’ latest release, published October 8, 2026. It delivers significant upgrades across AI-assisted workflows, reservoir simulation, petrophysics, seismic interpretation, geology, and integrated production modeling .
Key New Features in 2026.3
Smarter and More Flexible AI Assistant
The default LLM has been upgraded to Gemma 4, increasing maximum context size to 256,000 tokens for improved handling of complex requests. AI Assistant can now automatically correct AI-generated workflows when execution errors occur, connect directly to third-party LLMs from the workstation client, create and manage projects across tNavigator modules, and analyse attached text files within the AI window .
Enhanced Petrophysics Workflows
Following the 26.2 introduction of the Petrophysics module, 2026.3 adds LAS 3.0 well log import (supporting multiple measurement sections and multidimensional arrays), Spectral Well Logs from DLIS files with Well Section visualisation, Laterolog Correction for borehole and shoulder-bed effects, and an interactive Data Normalization tool .
More Powerful Reservoir Simulation
Compositional isothermal models now support oil-gas-water (OGW) flash calculations on GPUs, including water vaporisation phase-equilibrium calculations. Water evaporation into the gas phase is now modelled for isothermal models, porosity effects are accounted for in Arrhenius and TST reaction-rate calculations, and SUMMARY results can be output directly in CSV format .
Geology and Seismic Interpretation
A new Thickness interpolation method enables thickness-map modelling with pinch-out line consideration, and WMS online maps can be imported directly into projects. For seismic workflows, a new Seismic Mistie Table supports analysis and editing of misties, Transparency mode enables comparison of multiple seismic volumes, and a new Intelligent Fault Enhancement attribute supports interpretation and fault tracking .
Geosteering and Reservoir Performance
Geosteering workflows now allow creating and deleting Bend and Fault objects directly from the Shift Settings table, with marker projections from a reference well displayed on the horizontal track. Reservoir Performance introduces Fractional-Dimension Analysis for estimating reservoir and fracture properties in multi-fractured horizontal wells, and users can create Numerical Models directly within Rate Transient Analysis .
Integrated Modelling and Production
Key improvements include a new Model Overview for quick access to model properties, support for integrated models with multiple independent surface network projects, graphical optimisation flowcharts in Network Designer, and improved modelling of pressure losses from local pipe fittings. Well Designer introduces Hydro correlation for choke pressure-drop calculations and a new Correlation Analysis tab for selecting optimal correlations based on actual measurements .
